Women Who Code Twin Cities offers a variety of events.
Here are the types of events we typically hold. Check out our Meetup page for our current schedule.
On the third Wednesday of every month, we hold a HackNight from 6-8:30 PM. We strive to create a safe space for our members to connect during this event, so we typically reserve this event for members who identify as women. Recruiters are asked not to attend this event unless specifically invited (except for representatives from our hosting sponsor).
This event provides an open and welcoming environment for our members to learn new technical skills and network with other women in technology. We rotate locations every month so we can connect our members to a variety of local tech companies and offer them a glimpse into their workplace.
We’re always interested in meeting new sponsors. Please contact us if you’re interested in hosting a HackNight!
Mobile Study Groups
Our mobile study groups are a weekly event — rotating between iOS and Android-focused development topics each week. A mobile development expert will be on hand to help members through any questions they might have on mobile development. We also have a variety of resources available for our members to use for their technical development.
We hold a few special events throughout the year.
- Coding with Your Kids: A few times per year we hold an event where parents are invited to bring their children with them to the Meetup. Parents learn a coding-specific skills while their children are provided with STEM toys to play with and learn more about technology.
- Job Search Skills: Once a year, we hold a larger event dedicated to interview preparation, resume review, and related topics to help our members in their job search. Recruiters and HR leaders from local tech companies are invited to help our members learn more about how to land their perfect job.
- Movie Viewings: Last year, we rented a theater to watch CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap. We will hold these events as we find films of interest for our members.
